where troubles are left behind
where i could be carefree

the blue bus is one
sure sign
i’m out, i’m free
i’m scot free
of the white room’s deadly embrace
the fiery black room
welcomes me
offers refuge
but does it?
isn’t it another test
another torture chamber
this time with
saccharine bullets
with deeply camouflaged
machinations ploys and plays
i had to stay alert
and street-smart
to avoid the traps and
maintain my self respect
i paid expensive tuition
in both rooms
i cannot say though that
i have mastered all the lessons
that could be learned in both
thus i welcome all the white rooms
the black rooms
the grey rooms
the blue buses
the yellow submarines
the lucies in the skies
the rose darlings
the josies, the pegs
the roxannes and the rosannas
the starry skies
the gentle sea breeze
the smell of meadows after light rains
the chuckle of babies
the guffaw of grandparents
